The most streamed French artist in the world, with a slew of international hits, DJ Snake is joining forces with Hublot to unveil an exclusive creation: the Big Bang DJ Snake. A watch boasting a myriad of facets, just like the talented artist who inspired it.

DJ Snake has such a huge presence in today’s musical landscape that he needs no introduction. The electronic music star first came to public attention with the track “Turn Down For What”, released in 2013. Since then, the hits have racked up: “Lean On”, “Loco Contigo”, “Let Me Love You” with Justin Bieber, and “Selfish Love” with Selena Gomez. Diplo, Kanye West, Lil Jon… the collaborations keep on coming! He became the first French artist to have two songs with over a billion plays on Spotify, and the awards have rained down: Billboard Music Awards; MTV Music Awards; and no fewer than three NRJ Music Awards.

Hublot and DJ Snake have been partners since January 1st 2018, when he presided over the decks at Hublot’s closing evening during the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Three years later, the first watch of this partnership is being unveiled:  The Big Bang DJ Snake.

The instantly recognizable and iconic design of the Big Bang now has an iridescent shine, with countless blue and purple hues. The bezel and the six titanium components of the 45-mm case are treated with a special and technical manufacturing process, similar to a black PVD treatment.  During the process, the different components of the watch must each be placed in specific positions when they are coated with different colors. The result is an optical effect in which the colors of the watch change depending on the light and when viewed from different angles. Not only that, but the surface of the parts was hardened before the iridescent treatment in order to improve its adherence. This operation is a complex one as it is difficult to obtain the same gradation of colour on each of the 100 watches being produced. The cut-outs on the outer edge of the bezel were designed by DJ Snake himself. These notches make the Big Bang DJ Snake immediately recognisable, distinguishing it from other collections. An illustration of the “Art of Fusion” philosophy so dear to Hublot!

On the upper face of the sapphire dial in the same colours as the case, a globe is featured, the signature of the electronic music star. A nod both to his travels across the planet for his concerts and to the fact that his hits have made the world his home. The lower section is skeletonised and treated to create sections with a black fumé finish.

This semi-transparent finish allows a glimpse of the famous calibre HUB1242 UNICO movement, a flyback chronograph with a power reserve of 72 hours.

Limited to 100 pieces, the Big Bang DJ Snake will be supplied with two straps which are easily interchangeable thanks to Hublot’s patented One Click system. The first is made from rubber, with a grey, black and purple camouflage pattern echoing the myriad colours reflected by the watch case. The second, also rubber, has a black ribbed structure. The clasp on these straps also features the same “Newton’s Rings” effect as the case and bezel.

HUBLOT’S UNIQUE TAKE ON RAINBOW MAXIMALISM
Since 2017, Hublot has been setting its watches with all the colours of the rainbow. However, the watch brand has never combined all of its seven colours in one piece. Until now! Two exceptional High Jewellery pieces adorned with the full rainbow spectrum, from the case to the dial and to the bracelet.  Two Big Bang Tourbillon models made from King Gold or white gold, which allow a glimpse beneath the sapphire to reveal the fascinating automatic tourbillon manufacture movement.

While Hublot is now completely synonymous with its Art of Fusion, the watch brand is also a master of the Art of Colour. It excels at imbuing all the materials it uses with colour, from those it has built expertise in, such as sapphire, to those it has patented, like vibrantly coloured ceramic.

With a Pop Art spirit and a penchant for bright tones, Hublot loves its watches to really show their colours. Juxtapositions, gradations, contrasts, no Pantone is out of reach – not even the palette required for “Rainbow”. While the Rainbow trend has recently taken the fashion world by storm, for Hublot, this love of polychromy is anything but fleeting – unlike the rainbow itself – with the first Big Bang Rainbow released in 2017.

This piece totals almost 36 carats, with 484 invisibly set baguette-cut stones of seven different types to echo the seven visible colours of the spectrum: bright red rubies, fuchsia pink sapphires, ultraviolet amethysts, topaz in Klein blue, leaf green tsavorites, lemon yellow sapphires and bright orange sapphires. Two striking creations with generous dimensions of 43 mm; two unique pieces crafted from King Gold or white gold, with the integrated bracelet further reinforcing the visual impact, as the graduated spectrum of colours radiates outwards from the bezel to the bracelet.

The colour gradation is expertly executed, subtle yet captivating. It would be impossible to choose a favourite colour or stone. It must be said that, when it comes to perfectly combining and harmonising colours, Nature knows best. The continuous transition between the seven types of stones further accentuates the piece’s artistic appeal.
To reproduce the perfection of Nature takes 1200 hours of work, selecting the stones, choosing their colours, cutting them and setting them to ensure the perfect gradation of colours. Nothing is left to chance in this work of art, including its mechanism, a manufacture movement entirely designed and manufactured in-house. It features a tourbillon at 6 o’clock which is no less striking than the piece itself: self-winding, with a micro-rotor visible on the dial side, and three bridges made from transparent sapphire. Once again, Hublot has fused innovation with expertise, combining Haute Horlogerie and Haute Joaillerie in a truly stunning watch.

ITALY – Forte dei Marmi
Immortalised in Carlo Vanzina’s unforgettable film “Sapore di mare” (Time for Loving), the Tuscan seaside resort of Forte dei Marmi will this summer become home to a brand new Hublot boutique. The opening will be marked by the launch of a watch specially designed for the occasion: the Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Forte dei Marmi. Available in a limited edition of 35 pieces, this 45mm diameter model is notable for its beige case, dial and rubber strap. It is powered by the calibre HUB1143, a chronograph movement with a 42-hour power reserve.


ITALY – Capri
The jewel of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the island of Capri is famous for its stunning landscapes, its palaces, its many yachts and the prestigious Rue Vittorio Emanuele, which is home to the Hublot boutique. Here, customers will be able to purchase the Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Capri, a 30-piece limited edition model. Its titanium case is topped with a ceramic bezel whose azure colour echoes that of the skies above the Bay of Naples. The striated rubber strap and the chronograph counters, which sit either side of the white dial, are in this azure same colour.

GREECE – Mykonos
Mykonos, with its beaches, its nightclubs… and its now traditional Hublot summer watch! Hublot has just unveiled its tenth model dedicated to the famous Cyclades Island. Based on the iconic Classic Fusion Chronograph, this 2021 version marries dark blue with the warmth of rose gold, recalling the sunset enjoyed daily by Mykonians. A bladed rotor on the dial symbolises the Kato Myli – the island’s iconic windmills.

TURKEY – Bodrum
Hublot opens a new boutique in Bodrum! Built using stone from the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the city faces the Aegean Sea, whose sparkling colours inspired a new 25-piece limited edition Hublot watch. The dial and strap of the Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Bodrum are in blue, which is beautifully complemented by the white ¡counters and strap stitching. Its 45mm titanium case houses a Hublot calibre HUB1143 movement.

SPAIN – Ibiza
Hublot loves Ibiza! The party island now boasts a brand new Hublot boutique with its own specially designed watch: the Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Ibiza. Inside its blue ceramic case sits a self-winding chronograph movement that beats to the rhythm of the Ibiza night at a frequency of 4 Hz, or 28,800 vibrations per hour. Its dial features the Flower Power symbol – the island’s emblem. Peace and love!

FRANCE – Saint-Tropez and Monaco
Façades as blue as the waves, wooden walls reminiscent of boat decks, rope handles and jute rugs: Hublot’s southern boutiques have a distinctly seaside feel, capturing the urge to get away from it all after a particularly gloomy spring. Un tercio de estos fueron diseñados especialmente para brindar una armonía única con la transparencia de la carcasa y para ofrecer fluidez y flexibilidad. With the Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon 5-day Power Reserve Carbon White, Hublot combines black with white, proving opposites attract. The 42-mm case, case back and bezel are crafted from carbon fibre featuring white composite inclusions. These white inclusions are formed of glass microfibres created as a non-woven fabric (NWF), used mainly to improve the breaking strength of composites: This NWF is then co-impregnated with the carbon fibres using tinted epoxy resin when the composite preforms are created in a special mould.

Released in a limited edition of 100 pieces, the Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon 5-day Power Reserve Carbon White plays with contrasts and transparency with a sapphire case back and dial which reveal the ultra-aesthetic architecture of the HUB6020 manufacture movement. A skeleton tourbillon specially designed to sit within the tonneau case of the Spirit of Big Bang. A power reserve of 115 hours, hand-wound, with a 5-day indicator set at 8 o’clock. At 6 o’clock, the tourbillon cage completes one rotation per minute. Off-centre hours and minutes can be read at 3 o’clock.
Paired with a white lined rubber strap, the Spirit of Big Bang White embraces interchangeability thanks to its patented “One-Click” system.

In the second collaboration between the Swiss watchmaking manufacture and the brilliant American artist Shepard Fairey, Hublot presents the Classic Fusion Chronograph Shepard Fairey timepiece. A veritable titanium sculpture to be worn on the wrist, it symbolises the natural cycles of life and the unity between different cultures.

Hublot is staying true to its motto “Be the first, be unique, be different” by deepening its commitment to its “Hublot Loves Art” programme.

After unveiling new collaborations with artists Takashi Murakami and Richard Orlinski, Hublot is today presenting its third watchmaking work of art of the year, the Classic Fusion Chronograph Shepard Fairey.

As its name indicates, it has been designed by American artist Shepard Fairey. Painter, graphic designer, DJ, illustrator, street artist, skateboarder and founder of the OBEY Clothing company, Fairey – also known by his pseudonym Obey – is probably the most politically influential artist of his generation.

His works include the famous “Obama Hope” poster, an iconic image from Barak Obama’s electoral campaign in 2008, as well as the piece entitled “Liberté, égalité, fraternité” which he created as a symbol of hope for France after the 2015 terrorist attacks.

His works are on show in the world’s most prestigious museums such as the Smithsonian in Washington, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the MoMa in New York, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, to name but a few. He has been a Hublot ambassador since 2018.

Hublot and Shepard Fairey chose a watch from the Classic Fusion collection as the basis for their second collaboration. On this piece, the American artist, greatly involved in the project, chose to bring to life a piece symbolising a mandala, an ornamental symbol whose origins can be traced back simultaneously to several cultures across the planet. The mandala represents harmony, the cycle of life and the elements, as well as the precious nature of time in the mind. Here, this pattern is brushed and engraved into the titanium, the material used to create the bezel and the 45-mm diameter case. This work continues on the dial, which has also been finely cut to reveal the self-winding chronograph movement, a calibre HUB1155 offering a power reserve of 42 hours. In the centre, the hands display Fairey’s signature “Star Gear” mark. Fitted on a lined black rubber strap, the black stainless steel deployant buckle is also brushed.

The Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Shepard Fairey timepiece is available now as a limited edition in the Hublot e-shop and boutiques. Hublot and Shepard Fairey have agreed that this timepiece will help to raise funds for Amnesty International, an NGO formed of over 10 million people in 150 countries, which campaigns to put an end to human rights violations, in accordance with the theme of global harmony represented by the design engraved on the watch.

With his roots in street art – a type of expression which is essentially a form of protest – Shepard Fairey is truly shaking up the art world; his works make us think. This is an inspiring approach which is also in line with the brand’s “Hublot Loves Art” programme. Hublot and Hublot Friend of the Brand Alexander Ovechkin have teamed up to create the Hublot Big Bang Unico Red Carbon Alex Ovechkin, a limited edition watch made in honour of ‘The Great Eight’, as the Russian ice hockey superstar is affectionately known.

The new watch has a lightweight carbon fibre case fused with bright red inserts and comes on a red velcro strap. The red accents consist of micro-glass fibres in the form of “Non Woven Fabric” (NWF), which is used to strengthen the composite material from which the case is made. During the preparation of the composite, this NWF and carbon fibre are fused with a resin-tinted adhesive. This high-tech, high-performance material combination was chosen to reflect both Alexander’s hockey equipment and his own extraordinary resilience and longevity. Now 35, “Ovi”, as he is called by his fans, was drafted in 2004.

There are no two ways about it; Ovi is one of the greatest ice hockey players of all time. On February 22, 2020, in a game against the New Jersey Devils in Newark, NJ, the captain of the Washington Capitals ice hockey team, Alexander Ovechkin, scored his 700th career goal. That’s a landmark only seven other players have reached in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL), and one that puts him well ahead of any other athlete playing in the league today. No other athlete currently playing in the NHL comes anywhere near his scoring record. Commentators calculate it could be decades before another player reaches the 700 goals mark.
This incredible moment reaffirmed Alexander’s status as one of the all-time greats of the game and a global sporting icon. Also known as ‘The Great Eight’ because of his jersey number, the 35-year-old Russian is one of the most decorated players in NHL history. In 2018 he led the Capitals to their first ever Stanley Cup win.

The red accents tie in with both the Russian national flag, and the color of the jersey he wears as captain of the Washington Capitals. The timepiece is powered by Hublot’s in-house UNICO chronograph mechanism and its column wheel on the dial side. It is limited to just 100 pieces.

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Red Carbon Alex Ovechkin has some further personalized touches. To celebrate his jersey number, a ‘Great Eight’ logo sits at 8 o’clock on the dial. Additionally, Ovi’s signature appears on the sapphire crystal case back. Finally, another special detail is the tip of the chronograph hand, which is finished in red, white and blue:  A nod to the Russian flag, as well as the colors of the Washington Capitals.

Thanks to the “One-Click” fastening system, allowing the strap to be changed safely and quickly, the watch will include a second strap in black rubber.  And the icing on the cake: there will also be a limited edition custom hockey puck signed by Ovi as a memento for fans to treasure.

With the Hublot e-warranty, Hublot & KerQuest are fusing materials and ground-breaking algorithmics to revolutionise the user experience. The watch is thus authenticated by the recognition of the specificity of its materials. A first in the fight against counterfeiting.

Gone are the days of warranty cards and authenticity certificates; with its new Hublot e-warranty protection and warranty system, the watchmaking Manufacture is simplifying the tracking and tracing of its watches, from their manufacture through to customers, via points of sale. Faithful to its motto “Be first, unique, and different”, the watchmaker, with the Hublot e-warranty, has created a technological first in which the watch itself becomes the key to open up a new world of services. As well as facilitating use for points of sale, customers and customs alike, Hublot is improving the prevention of counterfeiting and theft. Simple, easy and effective!

The watchmaker has been working on the development of algorithms in partnership with the company KerQuest since 2017. The goal was to develop a technology that relied on the very recognition of the specificity of the watch, namely the microstructure of the materials that make it up. This way of working seemed obvious to the master of the Art of Fusion, which has been using materials and their fusion to differentiate itself for 40 years. As an additional challenge, although the recognition of a material in the broadest sense has been studied for several years, its actual unitary recognition was what had been problematic until now. With the evolution of smartphones and in particular the improvement in camera definition, as well as the development of artificial intelligence, Hublot and KerQuest were able to perfect the first visual recognition of a watch.


Each and every Hublot watch is unique: even two watches of the same model leaving the manufacture are distinguishable thanks to the singularities of their microstructure. The challenge faced was how to read them and process them in a reliable and practical way. The Hublot e-warranty is based on the unitary recognition of the specificities of all of Hublot’s watches and models.The main technology is found at the very heart of the manufacture, where, in a way, the passport of the watch is established. Specially designed optical readers image and reconstruct the reality of each piece in full detail, in very high definition. Every watch is indeed “photographed” as it comes out of production. When the watch is sold in a boutique, the point of sale activates the warranty using the Hublot-e-warranty application (which takes a photo of the head of the watch lined up with a duplicate displayed on the screen). The photo is sent to the computing infrastructure that will process it and automatically activate the warranty if the piece has been correctly identified unitarily. Once the watch has been recognised and authenticated, the customer receives their Hublot e-warranty via the channel of their choice (SMS, E-mail, WhatsApp, WeChat, Instagram, Messenger, etc.), and will then easily be able to join the Hublotista community.

A specific e-warranty application also exists for customers. This enables them to easily access new services, such as verifying the authenticity of a piece, retrieving the warranty status of a piece, or accessing the Hublotista community. In the event of the loss of warranty data or of the sale of the watch without transferring the warranty to the new owner, the unitary recognition of the piece by the Hublot e-warranty application, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, once again enables access to all the information about the watch and its warranty. During a transaction involving a second-hand watch, the Hublot e-warranty application will enable the seller or buyer to check the status of the piece, and will protect the seller from the resale of a stolen watch.

The Hublot e-warranty technology is already compatible with all the pieces produced by the Manufacture since the start of 2020. This fully functional technology is currently being rolled out across all Hublot points of sale. The pioneering Paris Vendôme boutique, which has been equipped for over a year, and the Swiss boutiques and retailers are also already operational. The other markets will follow in the coming months. For earlier pieces, the electronic warranty card remains in place. When these watches are next with the after-sales service, they will be recorded by the Manufacture so they can benefit from the new Hublot e-warranty system.
Once again, Hublot is placing the customer experience at the heart of its developments and intends to leverage this technology to offer its loyal customers new interactive features.

Already first in 2009 with the electronic warranty card
In 2009, Hublot became one of the first companies in the world to equip its watches with the WISeKey technology—a warranty card activated on purchase, working with a two-factor authentication system (cryptographic key and watch serial number). This technology was combined with a USB warranty reader and already enabled the customer to join the Hublotista community. In 2015, it evolved, replacing the contact electronic chip with NFC (near field communication) technology.

The Hublot e-warranty will be part of the AURA blockchain initiated by LVMH
The new warranty system developed by Hublot is part of a global trend to fight counterfeiting and to track and trace product lifecycles, initiated by LVMH. The Hublot e-warranty will be stored in the AURA blockchain, intended for use by other luxury brands. Developed by Microsoft and the blockchain company ConsenSys, AURA is the first international blockchain designed to help consumers trace items and assess their authenticity. Designed by and for luxury brands, it enables the tracking of raw material sourcing and the protection of intellectual and creative property, among other things.
